Curriculum Information
At Parkwood Secondary College, our structure and delivery of the curriculum addresses the learning needs of all our students. We expect each student to do his or her best and we provide a range of opportunities for each student to demonstrate his or her abilities.
Students in Years 7 to 10 are assessed against the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). The VELS are designed to support students to develop the ability to manage themselves and their relationships with others, make sense of the world in which they live and effectively participate in that world.Year 7 & 8

Year 9
In Year 9 the curriculum provided is innovative and challenging. All students are involved in our extremely successful Aiming High Program. This program allows students to work outside the traditional classroom environment in areas of their choosing and has an emphasis on developing independent learning, teamwork, increased self-esteem, responsibility and creativity.
Students in Year 9 are also able to select units of their choosing in the Arts and Technology areas.
