Year 10
In Year 10 students are involved in a more intensive study of subjects. At this level, students are able to choose some of their subjects. If appropriate, Year 10 students are also able to access VCE and VET units. For more detailed information please click on the link below.
VCE
We offer a wide range of VCE units and some students are able to access first year university subjects. The Maroondah Education Coalition has provided a vehicle for us to provide combined classes in specialist areas. Currently we are successfully running combined VCE classes in Chemistry and Physics with Maroondah Secondary College. This allows students to get the specialist teaching and learning environment they need to allow them to excel in these subjects of choice.

VCE VET
The Eastland Cluster, comprising local Secondary Colleges including Parkwood, Norwood, Maroondah, Croydon, Ringwood, and Heathmont Colleges, offer VCE Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses including: Multimedia (at Parkwood), Music Industry Skills (2nd Year), Automotive, Outdoor Recreation, Community Services and Furnishing. Some VCE VET courses are also offered by local TAFE institutions including Swinburne TAFE (Croydon and Wantirna) and Box Hill TAFE.

Careers Guidance:
Parkwood has an experienced Careers Co-ordinator who also employs outside agencies to assist students in matching their talents and interests to their career aspirations. Over time students are progressively introduced to a careers guidance program that is regularly revised and refined to meed the individual student's needs.
